Hiatus!!!

So after Lost ended two Sundays ago, Stephanie, Sara, Elizabeth, and myself had to go for a long hiatus. We decide to travel the world, and what better way to do that then to go to Epcot, in Orlando Florida. But before we got to travel the world, we had a bit of an adventure.

We arrived on Monday, after a very depressive and emotional night watching the greatest show on EARTH and only having a few hours of sleep, we immediately went to the beach. Thus starting our journey. The next day we went to the Kennedy Space Center, I tell you our trip was very educational, we left with a few very interesting facts. (At least Sara and I did; Stephanie, Her dad, and Elizabeth fell asleep during a movie about Hubble...TSK TSK) But our fun did not stop there. The very next day we went to West Palm Beach, that beach was gorgeous. After some hours of excitement and getting tumbled by the waves, we were off to visit some of Stephanie's dads friends. It was fun watching Sara and Elizabeth get Tipsy over Mojitos. After eating some delicious roasted pork (which the friends wife claimed she cooked but we clearly saw her husband bring the food in foil containers), we left, Steph's dad was in the mood to go to Miami, now from West Palm Beach to Miami is about 40 something miles, so we decide to go to Fort Lauderdale. What a mistake we made.

Its around 10 or 11 pm and all the small hotels are closed because small hotels do that, they close at 6 or 7 (SO FOR THOSE WHO EVER GO OUT LATE AND WANT TO STAY AT A HOTEL, IF ITS PAST THIS TIME JUST GO FOR THE EXPENSIVE ONES OR RESERVE A ROOM IN TIME) so we are about to pull up to the Hilton when Steph's father sees a small motel open, the Beach Resort was its name. The moment we stop and go inside the front desk which is the smallest office you can possible think of, and get attended by a European lady, reminded me of Die Hard: With A Vengeance. Well we check in the room and start looking around, this place isn't the greatest place to stay in, but it was for one night so we all get over it. Now comes the fun part. We all go to sleep, and I am itchy, i just figured it was the mosquito's bites from earlier, so i finally fall asleep around 4, at 4:30 Stephanie comes out of the room and tells me "Oscar, there is bedbugs here" I get up and yell out "they bit me too, they bit me too". We all are just standing around freaked out, and not wanting to get close to the furniture while Steph's dad is telling everyone just to go back to sleep because he is trying to sleep. But none of us can sleep a all, so we all decide to take showers one by one (oh yeah there is no cold water, just burning water), put all our cloths in a plastic bag. While all this is happening Steph's dad is knocked out, finally he wakes up and realizes that he too had been a victim of this infestation. We all decide to wait for him outside the room, which isn't that great of an idea either because now we are getting eaten alive by mosquito's. Finally Breakfast comes, which was the best part of the day, from here we went back to the beach and back to Orlando because in a few hours Steph's dad has to return to New York.

The next day was our new adventure towards Epcot. Now this was my first time there, I've been to Magic Kingdom but never Epcot or any other Disney park for that matter. The first thing you see is the dome, which is pretty awesome. I think this park is more for the geeks that enjoy space (so i am glad i came here), and for the tourist that wants to travel the world but doesn't have the money. Spaceship Earth was pretty awesome, very educational. Mission: Space was intense, word of advice ALWAYS READ WARNINGS. I got on this ride and didn't read the warning handout which clearly stated if you have high blood pressure do not get on it, well i got on it. I felt like i was about to faint. It was a cool ride but i wouldn't do it again. After getting some food to rise my pressure we found Nemo. This ride is very family friendly, you hope on a clam and go through the ocean and find many of your favorite characters like Bruce, Marvin and of course Dory. Not only is there a ride, once you are finished with the ride you can got visit the aquarium, which has all sorts of fish, a few sharks, and some pretty radical sea turtles. I wanted to learn something about energy, so who better to teach me about energy then Ellen DeGeneres in Ellen's Energy Adventure. After getting my dose of energy info we traveled to Figments Imagination. This is one of the weirdest rides i have ever gotten on. You feel like you are on something.

From here we started our journey around the world. We found Totem Poles in Canada, walked the streets of England, ate crepes in France, watch Sara and Elizabeth go gaga over guys from Morocco, saw ninjas fight in Japan, fought in the American Revolutionary War, saw Romeo & Juliet get judged, cruised Germany, cruised China, cruised Norway, and climbed an Aztec Pyramid.

After exploring space, learning about energy, finding Nemo again, learn how to changed the world, and traveled the world all, I have to say I want to go back. We return to NY on Saturday, and although we are home I still want to be in a vacation!!!
